RTP scholarship is an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship that gives a living allowance for high-quality research higher degree students. They are being awarded based on academic merit and also research experience and/or potential.

RTP scholarship is fully funded by Australian Government and gives support;

  • The school fees offset for 4 years  upward (full-time load) depending on the course and mode of study;
  • Stipend for their living costs will be offered while undertaking HDR study; and/or
  • An RTP scholarship allowance to help all successful students with ancillary costs which may include:
    • for international students, a standard approved Overseas Student Health Cover policy by the Commonwealth Department of Health will be given, this covers the student and may cover their spouse and or any dependants;
    • Relocation fee(costs) to undertake an HDR at Curtin University; and/or
    • HDR thesis printing and also applicable to with the publication costs.

This year, the 2019 value of the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship was budgeted $27,596 pa (indexed annually).

Australian Government will release the 2022 value by October 2019.

Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a current or future student, domestic or international either; and
  • Applicants must have satisfied the entry requirements or be already admitted into a Master’s by Research or Research Doctorate at Curtin University which involved meeting the Curtin University English proficiency levels.
