Biography of Bishop David Oyedepo
Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo was born in Osogbo on the 27th of September 1954 but, he is a native of Omu-Aran, in Kwara State, Nigeria. He was born in a mixed religious family, his father, was a Muslim healer called Ibrahim, While his mother, is Dorcas, and a member the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (C&S), a branch of the Aladura movement in Nigeria. His clan, Odo-oro (place of wealth) and family lineage believe in hard work. “Papa” stayed with his grandmother in Osogbo of which she was a devout Anglican.
Cant really say about his primary and secondary school education life, for his higher institution, Bishop Oyedepo studied Architecture at Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin, Kwara State. He has once been a staff with the Federal Ministry of Housing in Ilorin before he resigned and focus on missionary work.
On February 19, 1969, Bishop Oyedepo was born again. That was when he turned 15 years old, through the influence of Ms. Betty Lasher, which happens to be his missionary teacher. Bishop Oyedepo shared is first gospel in March 1970. After rejecting a charm his biological father gave him, he started developing whitlow on his right-hand finger. As a secondary school student, According to him, he said there was a time he challenged God to remove the tuberculosis illness he has, after his friends shifted their beds away from him, to God be the glory he was healed.

This was what led him establishing Living Faith Church World Wide (LFCW), it was initially called Liberation Faith Hour Ministries, in 1981. 2years after, he was ordained, together with his wife, Florence Abiola Akano whose known as Faith Abiola Oyedepo to become pastors by the Daddy G.O of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in the person of General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye, he was also the one that commissioned the new church.
After 5years, Oyedepo was ordained as Bishop; and then His church started to flourish. The church is also called Winners Chapel. The church was planted in Kaduna, But, in July 1989 it was to Lagos, Nigeria.
Bishop David Oyedepo Ministries International are; Bakery, processing plants, Estates, Restaurants, four private jets, shopping stores, commercial properties and educational institutions(e.g. Landmark University in Omu-Aran Kwara State and Covenant University In Ota, Ogun State), etc.
Bishop David Oyedepo’s Faith Tabernacle, Ota, was reported to be the largest church auditorium in the world, that heads, more than 50,000 seats of people. Benchmarked in the Guinness Book of Records in 2008 and 2009. Which took them only a year to build it, debt free. The church was dedicated on September 18, 1999, when former President Olusegun Obasanjo was still on presidential thrown.
Popularly known as, Canaanland, the Faith Tabernacle is in Ota, Ogun state and is 5,000-acre (20 km2) estate and campus, that houses the 50,000 edifice church building, the church secretariat, the church’s youth chapel, a primary school which is called Kingdom heritage model school.
A boarding mission secondary school known as Faith Academy has more than 1,500 students and the Covenant University facilities, which accommodates more than 7,000 students, a resident in ultra-modern hostel facilities, with fully equipped faculty buildings and various staff housing facilities.
The Canaanland estate has four profitable firms, which are operated by the church like a bottled water processing plant, a petrol station, a bakery, various restaurants and shopping stores, many residential houses that are offered to the over 2,000 church employees, and guesthouses.
Four banks are also present on this estate, three of which are branches of external commercial banks and one which is a community and micro-finance bank all firms are under and controlled by the church.
The whole of Canaanland which covers a proposed 15,000 housing estate that is called Canaan City had increased to 17,000 acres as at 2012.

DOF sponsored the full academic fees for a 5-year duration of the study and in some categories, travels and living expenses for the period of the course of study.

As a saying said, on all successful men, there’s a woman behind it, Bishop David Oyedepo was married to Pastor Faith Abiola Oyedepo, formerly Florence Abiola Akano, They met themselves is at a motor park when he was 22year.
And married in 1982 and were blessed with four children; two boys and two girls; David Jnr., Isaac, Love and Joyce. His sons was ordained by pastors by Kenneth Copeland in May 2007.
